Southern Rock can rule the school. In fact, with out the almighty Lynard Skynard bands such as Metallica would have no songs to cover for their "Garage Days 2" album. And without the Southern Rock, the white man wouldn't have learned to dance whilst intoxicated with his mighty brew. And then along came the metal......METAL OF THE SOUTH.
The Name is Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. They have released three albums to date and although they are all good...its "II" that is their best work. If you do not have the brew in your hand...oh you will want one. With your American Flag bandanna on your rusty scalp and your stone washed jeans that you've been saving for that special fourth of July party...well my friends...Go ahead and pull them out, and pop open the PBR. Press "Go" on the ipod/CD player and let the disaster begin.
Here it is..the greatest Southern Rock Metal Song ever written. Not in the mood?? Play it anyway..and just like "Sweet Home Alabama" it gets in your blood. And how dare you say these boys are not metal?!!! A song about getting killed by a bunch of dudes in the woods who throw your body into the river is not only Metal...its life in the Dirty South. Welcome Boys!
